MSNBC reportedly gave Alec Baldwin the boot for things he did not say on the air, but Martin Bashir still has his job after disgusting on-air comments about Sarah Palin for which Bashir subsequently apologized.

Even on Thanksgiving Day, OFA peddles Obamacare spin

According to President Obama’s friends at Organizing For Action, Americans should be grateful that big, bad insurance companies can’t rescind our health insurance coverage like they used to do before Obamacare.

Let’s review:

1) rescission is still legal in the United States.

2) rescission has always been extremely rare, even before Obamacare in 2009 and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996.

Meanwhile, breast cancer patient Kelly Bachi is about to lose her current coverage, thanks to Obamacare:

“I’m scared. I’m in the middle of my cancer treatment, and if my insurance ends, I’m going to have to cancel the rest of my treatment,” said Kelly Bachi, an Oklahoma boat repair business owner who has breast cancer and is covered through a [high-risk] pool.

Cancer treatment without insurance would cost her about $500,000, she said.

Bachi has not been able to enroll via the healthcare.gov federal website, although not for lack of trying. She attempted to sign up half a dozen times and was eventually able to create an account but was later blocked from accessing the account.

In short, OFA decries a “problem” that largely never existed, while ignoring thousands of real people like Kelly Bachi who are at risk of having crucial treatments interrupted. That’s how the Left rolls.

Public Enemy frontman and former Air America host Chuck D retweeted that question yesterday, and today it seems he found his answer. As Twitchy noted, both Houston Rocket Dwight Howard and singer Rihanna tweeted #FreePalestine this week before deleting their posts.

Howard tweeted later that “he never commented on international politics and never will.” As for Rihanna, a source told TMZ that “she didn’t even realize it was a tweet until she started hearing from her fans.” According to the U.K. Independent, the source “went on to explain that the singer had been reading up on the Middle Eastern conflict online when she ‘clicked a link.’”

Sharyl Attkisson: CMS official instructed colleague to ‘delete this email’

Reporter Sharyl Attkisson has the story about a CMS official advising another within the department to delete an email:

From a post at Attkisson’s website:

An email obtained by Congress shows the top official for Healthcare.gov at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services under the Department of Health and Human Services, Marilyn Tavenner, instructed the agency’s top spokesman to “Please delete this email.”

The instruction appears significant for several reasons: First, the email to be deleted included an exchange between key White House officials and CMS officials. Second, the email was dated October 5, 2013, five days into the disastrous launch of HealthCare.gov. Third, federal law requires federal officials to retain copies of –not delete– email exchanges. And fourth, the document to be deleted is covered under Congressional subpoena as well as longstanding Freedom of Information requests made by members of the media (including me).
