Today, CNN contributor Erick Erickson defended his colleague Peter Hamby, who tweeted a link to a Barack Obama donation page last week.  Erickson tweeted a link to the same Obama donation page that Hamby tweeted, claiming that the page shows “Obama admits suddenly WI is in play.”

But Twitter users didn’t see anything of the sort. It’s just a boilerplate Obama-Biden donation page inviting supporters to attend a reception with Obama in Milwaukee: “Please join President Barack Obama for a reception with supporters like you in Milwaukee.”

Nowhere on the page does Obama state that Wisconsin is “in play.”

Earlier today, Erickson authored a blog post claiming that GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney is losing the presidential election and if the election were held today Obama would prevail. By contrast, a nationwide Rasmussen poll released this morning shows Romney 2 points ahead of Obama.

We’ll leave it up to readers to decide about Erickson’s claim the the Milwaukee fundraiser amounts to a newsworthy, tacit admission by Obama that “Wisconsin is in play.” Obama has had fund-raising receptions in many states, such as Washington, Oregon, California, and Maryland, that are not considered battleground states.

President Barack Obama told an audience in New York tonight that Mitt Romney is worse than his 2008 opponent Sen. John McCain.

“We have a very clear contrast this time. John McCain believed in climate change and believed in immigration reform,” Obama told an audience of about 200 donors who paid at least $5000 for a ticket to the event. “What we have this time out a candidate who said he would rubber stamp a Republican Congress that wants us to go backward, not forward.”

For months — and only in private — Obama campaign staffers in Chicago have said they have little respect for Romney because of his shifting positions, while John McCain was the type of principled Republican most like them. Obama has now made those private asides very public.

Obama has attempted to tie Romney to the GOP Congress, a task made easier by tax warrior Grover Norquist’s remarks to the Conservative Political Action Conference in February:

All we have to do is replace Obama. … We are not auditioning for fearless leader. We don’t need a president to tell us in what direction to go. We know what direction to go. We want the Ryan budget. … We just need a president to sign this stuff. We don’t need someone to think it up or design it. The leadership now for the modern conservative movement for the next 20 years will be coming out of the House and the Senate.

“This is going to be a tough election,” Obama remarked. “Sometimes when I come to New York, people say, ‘I don’t know anybody who’s not supporting you, Barack. I say, ‘You live in Manhattan.’”

“Their message will be, ‘You’re upset, you’re unsatisfied. It’s Obama’s fault,’” Obama added. “But I’m not worried. The reason I’m not worried is because of you.”

Motorola Droid RAZR M 4G LTE Specifications Leaked

The specifications of Motorola‘s upcoming Android smartphone, Droid RAZR M 4G LTE, have been revealed just a week ahead of its Sept. 5 event.

The device sports a 4.3-inch, 960 x 540 pixel, Super AMOLED Advanced display, a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 8 GB of storage and 1 GB of RAM, as well as an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 3-megapixel one on the front.

LTE, HSPA+ and NFC are also on board the phone, which will be powered by Android 4.0 or Ice Cream Sandwich.

Other notable details include its scratch-resistant cover glass made from Gorilla Glass 2, a Kevlar-reinforced back and a set of virtual navigation buttons at the bottom of the screen.

We’ll likely find out more about the device, including price and availability, in a week’s time.
