It seems odd that no MSM outlet picked up on the story. (Buzzfeed doesn’t count. They often make stuff up.)
According to two Twitter users, the plane was apparently able to land without any problem:

From the best I can tell, EK201 landed at JFK without incident. Still trying to dig up more info on (false) brake failure.
