Fox News’ Medical And Health Care Advice Is Anything But.

CNN’s Brian Stelter “strongly” suggested “you not take … medical advice” from Fox. He has a point there. Fox News’ “resident psychiatrist” suggested that the first lady is too overweight to be a credible voice on school nutrition.

2. Dr. Ben Carson: Obamacare is more damaging than 9/11, and the worst thing since slavery.

Yeah. He really said that.

3. Dr. Manny Alverez: “I hate the government getting involved and telling me what to eat and what not to eat.”

Since he can’t resist going on political tangents, maybe this physician should just stick to athlete’s foot for now.

The “Medical A-Team” member argued that “Kaczynski, while reprehensible for murdering and maiming people, was precisely correct in many of his ideas.”

5. Dr. David Samadi: Women should pay more for health insurance because they “have the breasts, they have the ovaries.”

Dr. David Samadi asserted that women should pay higher health insurance premiums because they “live longer,” and that men “only have the prostate. Women have the breasts, they have the ovaries, they have the uterus.”

Carson warned that someone could come “up to a lab worker” and offer that person “a million dollars” in a “transaction” to buy Ebola. Because who needs conspiracy theorists when you have Fox News’ medical experts to do the fear-mongering?

7. Dr. Keith Ablow: “Don’t let your kids watch Chaz Bono on ‘Dancing with the Stars’”

Ablow cautioned parents against the popular TV show while obsessively attacking Chaz Bono, a transgender man, as having “extraordinarily deep psychological problems” and suffering from a “psychotic delusion.” The ex-APA member also likened the transgender community to anorexics, heroin addicts, and people who believe they are zebras.

8. Dr. Marc Siegel: “There’s too much health insurance.”

Another member of Fox’s “Medical A-Team” diagnoses America’s woes: Dr. Siegel determined that health insurance “is the problem,” and “too many people have it.” In reality, studies have shown that as of 2009, thousands of Americans died every year because of lack of health insurance.

9. Dr. Keith Ablow: Newt Gingrich’s “three marriages mean he might make a strong president.”

Ablow suggested Gingrich may have the makings of a president because “three women have met Mr. Gingrich and been so moved by his emotional energy and intellect that they decided they wanted to spend the rest of their lives with him.” Just chew on that one for a bit.

While McCaughey is nowhere near a medical expert, Fox has given her more than enough air time to attack efforts to improve and increase health care coverage. Best known for inventing the “death panels” myth, the discredited pundit first claimed the Affordable Care Act would “require” seniors to receive end-of-life counseling, and would “pressure the elderly to end their lives prematurely.” Sarah Palin infamously picked up this smear and ran with it on Facebook.
