Director Phelim McAleer wants to make a film about the Kermit Gosnell trial, and he has turned to crowdsourcing to make it happen. As Twitchy reported, McAleer and his team turned to IndieGoGo as a fundraising platform after Kickstarter raised objections.
“They asked us to remove the descriptions of a serial killer committing his crimes,” McAleer says. Those crimes include snipping babies’ spinal cords with scissors after they were delivered and keeping feet and other body parts in jars and freezers.
Yancey Strickler, CEO and cofounder of Kickstarter, says that story isn’t true, and he has the email to prove it.

Not so fast, though. There were some conditions to that approval, it seems.

So what’s the real story? McAleer said he was warned by Kickstarter that his project could be pulled at any time in line with Kickstarter’s community guidelines.

That tweet is Strickler’s last comment on the issue so far, although earlier in the week he denied any charges of censorship.
