Fans are happy, though:
Huh. Intrigued by the idea of a Skull Island movie. Ancient tribes, dinosaurs, killer bugs, MAYBE a giant gorilla? Hhmmmmmmm

So #SkullIsland is a #KingKong prequel? Awesome!!! I"ve always wanted to know how a young Skull Island farmboy became a giant Gorilla.

Nice to see @Legendary has begun official promotion of "Skull Island" today. Always up for more movies with dinosaurs in it!

Skull Island is Tom"s Jurassic Park. And that thought makes me happy.

And with this version of “King Kong” and last summer’s “Godzilla,” can this be far behind?
‘Loki’ to star in ‘King Kong’ prequel, ‘Skull Island’
King Kong, Skull Island, Tom Hiddleston
