8 Animals Who Are Braver Than You

1.

“Chiquito came to us after a disk rupture left him paralyzed in his back end and unable to walk. He had already perfected his “scooting skills” and can zoom around the house like nobody’s business using those powerhouse front legs, but now he is truly mobile. Chiquito loves getting into his chair and going for walks outside to explore the world. He goes everywhere as fast as possible and with the most determined (and comical) look on his face you have ever seen. Folks can’t help but laugh out loud when Chiquito comes speeding by, so taking him out for a stroll is like spreading sunshine in the world.”

2.

“Gamera the Tortoise is cruising again thanks to a wheel for a leg. His leg had to be amputated due to an injury. His new ball-wheel allows him to carry his 23 pound body, which makes this 12 year old Tortoise happy when looking for a meal.”

3.

“Naki’o is the first dog to be fitted with a complete set of bionic paws that work naturally to allow him to run, jump and even swim. Nakio received the paws after his own were severely hurt from stepping into an ice puddle as a puppy.”

4.

From the Council of Disabled Animals: “Chased up a tree by some dogs and accidentally electrocuted, Kelly Anne had all four legs amputated by vets. Her main limitations are that she can’t scratch or groom herself but she can scoot around using her four “flippers”. She doesn’t use a littler box but does use wee-wee pads. The staff is waiting for a family that is up to taking care of all her special needs, though they have all ready had several requests.”

5.

“Ethel the paralysed rabbit is the first in Britain to receive a new lease of life with a custom built chariot.”

6.

“Patient Horace the hedgehog waits peacefully for his leg to heal.”

7.

Meet Oskar, the blind cat. Oskar has over 70,000 fans on Facebook. His owners’ say: “Oskar has been blind since his birth on May 5th, 2011. We adopted him after a chance encounter on a farm near Glenwood, Iowa. We brought him home with us on July 9th, 2011.”

8.

Oskar and his buddy, Klaus, get along just fine. Klaus’ right ear was damaged when he was a stray, but that hasn’t stopped him from being everyone’s friend.
