The Sassiest Figure Skater You Probably Won"t See on Primetime

The only thing long about the Olympic free skating program on Friday was the faces of its competitors. Perhaps it was Evgeni Plushenko’s unexpected retirement, or maybe a lack of valentine, but many of the skaters were visibly unhappy with their stumbling performances and low scores.

One skater, however, managed to dazzle the crowd with his sequined bodysuit, Kool-Aid hair and all-around charm. Misha Ge of Uzbekistan gave the crowd a show worthy of a rock stadium, even throwing a surprise finale to his performance of Little Richard’s “Tutti Frutti.”

The two-time Uzbekistan national champion placed 17th in Sochi, but we give him the gold medal in entertainment. Here are the glorious GIFs to prove it.

If Snow White"s Seven Dwarfs Were Hobbits

Hi-ho, hi-ho, it’s off to the Shire we go!

The seven dwarfs are known for being the lovable (yes, even Grumpy was lovable) pals of Snow White, helping her survive the wrath of the evil Queen’s apple tricks. But artist Jordy Lakiere gave these seven dudes a more rough-around-the-edges vibe for his latest series.

Lakiere took Sleepy, Bashful, Sneezy, Doc, Happy, Grumpy and Dopey and created realistic renderings of them. Their new images reflect Hobbit-like features including wrinkles, crumpled clothing and unruly hair that Disney left out of the cartoon.

Lakiere tells Mashable that his next project includes more lifelike versions of Snow White and the Witch.

Debate Tweet Cha-Chas Into History

Debate-tweet-cha-chas-into-history-f79a7fb3c3

UPDATE: Mashable community member PresHarryTruman pointed out to us that on Oct. 16, the Twitter account PimpTJefferson sent a nearly identical tweet to the one that Curran sent out on Monday night. It appears that the tweet may have been re-shared by Curran without giving credit to the original author. We wrote about that account here.

Patrick Curran is a college student at Boston University, set to graduate in 2015. He is in a fraternity, Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He has 395 Twitter followers.

He’s just another guy — and a perfect example that anything that anyone posts can go viral on the Internet.

The tweet below, which he sent a few hours before the foreign policy debate between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, has gone wildly viral. As of 10:30 PM, the tweet has been retweeted over 15,000 times.

During the debate, while the tweet started to pick up steam, Curran celebrated his Tweet’s success.

Thousands upon thousands of retweets later, Curran put it simply:
