Ladies, Your Boobs Will Thank You For This Supportive Bionic Bra

Breasts are not meant to move, and certainly not to bounce, while you’re trying to stay active.

There’s no pain quite like bounding down the stairs without having firmly strapped down the twins.

Finally, someone’s going to do something about it.

After 15 long years of development, researchers from Australia created a bionic bra that senses boob movement and actually tightens to provide extra support.

Soon, you may be able to walk straight from a long day at the office to the treadmill without switching into a compression bra.

I call that world “Utopia.”

But, the bra, which is the primarily the product of the University of Wollongong’s Breast Research Australia (BRA), still needs a few adjustments to make it wearable.

The prototype isn’t exactly what you’d call lingerie. Images look closer to combat armor than anything you’d wear for a sexy night out.

But, advances like 3D printing and “smart yarn” can make the bra a reality.

There’s another caveat. Right now, the undergarment contains a bit too much expensive tech to go through the laundry.

Professor Julie Steele, BRA’s director, says all that may soon change. She said,

Advances in materials science that enabled advanced sensing and actuating technologies with soft materials, means we are in a unique position to tackle this problem…

When finished, the Bionic Bra will transform bra design.

In part, that’s because the bra relies upon artificial musculature made from strands of coiled fishing line. When the bra senses motion, the strands tighten to hold breasts in place.

Although the prototype only tightens in the back, researchers hope the final product will also be able to contract through the straps and cups.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to dream of a world without back pain and subway-induced boob jiggle.

Restaurant In China Has Replaced Human Staff With Robot Waiters

It’s official: We are living in the future.

A restaurant in China’s Zhejiang province is making global headlines after replacing all of its human waitstaff with robots.

The restaurant, which is in a mall in the city of Ningbo, is run by 48-year-old Lu Dike, who believes the replacement will save him money by eliminating the need to pay employee wages.

The machines cost $9,400 each and have a five-year warranty.

Each robot is equipped with a sensor system that keeps the machine from running into walls (or people) and comes programmed with a limited 40-phrase Mandarin Chinese vocabulary, allowing it to both take orders from and respond to customers.

A rechargeable battery keeps the robots powered for up to eight hours.

Unsurprisingly, the restaurant has become a significant tourist attraction among those who want to experience the artificial intelligence first-hand.

So far the feedback has been positive.

Dike reveals,

I get asked at least once a day if I’m prepared to sell one of them.

One interested customer, 34-year-old Xu Yuan, confirms,

I really like the service and I think I would really like one at home.

Though the bots aren’t for sale yet, Dike hasn’t eliminated the possibility, admitting “it might be a good sideline.”

This is the sort of futuristic technology we only ever thought we’d see in movies.

Speaking of, if Hollywood is any indication, we should probably get working on our lines of defense — you know, just in case they go all “I, Robot” and revolt against mankind.

The robots navigate with the help of a built-in sensor system.

Of course, the ‘bot was not made just to be featured in a viral video, but that didn’t stop the school from ‘teaching’ the new hi-tech dog-like robot tricks reminiscent of the extreme sport to impress the camera. 

In this new video, RHex performs a slew of impressive jumps, flips, and other impressive maneuvers and is quickly going viral.

WTF Is Ello?

Those of you always looking to be on the cutting edge of whatever new social media people are thinking of next may have heard of Ello. If you haven’t, that’s fine, otherwise this article wouldn’t exist.

Ello is supposedly the new big thing in social networking and prides itself on being “simple, beautiful, and ad-free.” Well, two out of those three things are true. Ello looks simple af and is sort of reminiscent of the good old days of Facebook before the newsfeeds and the little sidebar feeds and all those fucking ads and sponsored posts in the middle of your feeds. Beautiful, it is not. Yes there’s no clutter, but the entire site is just shades of gray, and no that was not supposed to be a 50 Shades reference. The layout is also extremely fucking elementary, to the point that they use Courier New for their font. Courier fucking New. Using a typewriter font for a new social networking site makes about as much sense as drinking iced coffee in the middle of January. Okay, maybe that was a bad example because we actually do that, but you get what I mean: it makes no fucking sense.

One of the betchy things about Ello is that right now you can only make a profile if you’ve been invited. And if there’s anything betches love, it’s exclusivity. Unfortunately like zero people outside the tech world know about Ello so the chances of you getting invited right now are sort of slim. I’ll invite you if you buy me shit.

The site is pretty easy to figure out, there are basically three buttons: Friends (self-explanatory, I hope), Noise, and a lightning bolt. Noise is basically like your Twitter feed or the “explore” section of Instagram (is that what it’s called, that place you go to when you click on the magnifying glass?). For now it just has pics of like trippy artwork and hipster-y T-shirt designs, I really don’t know what any of that signifies so don’t ask me. The lightning bolt is your notifications. For a website that prides itself on being easy to navigate you’d think they’d just label their shit with the appropriate words…

Yes Ello appears very simple, but it’s almost too simple. So simple that I can’t even figure out how to post anything, but I’m not sure if I want to anyway. Sure I could watch the introductory video on the home page, but who the hell has time for that?

My conclusions are as follows:

If you can get someone to invite you to Ello, by all means do it so then if/when it blows up you can say you had it first. Just don’t do it in a hipster-y way, you know how we feel about that. Also, the founders are clearly amazing at talking shit about themselves (in a good way) because I’m really not convinced this site is supposed to be the new Facebook or whatever, rather than just a Xanga that somehow managed to survive til 2015. But then again it’s just in Beta mode so I could be wrong. I sure as shit didn’t predict T-Swift’s quasi-betch approval, so who’s to say I’m right about Ello?
