Ex-Liberian leader Charles Taylor sentenced to 50 years for war atrocities; Judge calls crimes ‘betrayal of trust’

Last month, an international war crimes tribunal found Charles Taylor guilty of aiding and abetting rebels in Sierra Leone. Today, he was sentenced to 50 years in prison.


Court says it wont recognise Charles Taylor"s time in Nigeria as part of his sentencing. He wasn"t under house arrest there.
