Michael Jackson"s Wrongful Death Trial Is Almost Over And This Is What"s Happening

Closing arguments in Michael Jackson’s family’s lawsuit against concert promoter AEG began in Los Angeles Tuesday. Brian Panish, a lawyer for the family, portrayed the concert promoter as “mercenaries who sacrificed the pop star’s life in a quest to boost their own fortunes,” according to the Associated Press.

He called Dr. Conrad Murray, the singer’s doctor who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 2011, “incompetent and unfit.”

Panish also quoted Abraham Lincoln and from the Bible during his remarks, The Los Angeles Times reported.

Attorneys for AEG Live will present their closing arguments Wednesday.

The lawsuit was filed by Michael Jackson’s mother, Katherine Jackson. It accuses AEG Live of negligence in hiring Murray. The plaintiffs are expected to tell jurors Thursday they are seeking more than $1 billion in damages.
